NOTE:
This lot is accompanied by a signed letter from Richard L. Feigen, President of Richard L. Feigen & Co., New York affirming authenticity of the work.
Condition Report*:
Surface glued down entirely to backing; broad creases and wrinkles throughout surface, likely due to improper (dry)mounting; paper discoloration; 3.5 x 10 inch strip appears to have been cut away from sheet and reattached to body of composition via board backing (unclear if this was done by the artist's hand and/or when); surface nicks with associated paper loss and repaired tears throughout composition, including a 10 x 5 inch L-shaped tear from center left extreme top edge to mouth of standing woman with child, two repaired tears near right edge, the largest being a 4.5 inch zig zag tear along bishop's wrist and cuff, a 2.5 inch tear along figure's right shoulder near center bottom edge and a 5.75 inch tear along figure's neck and right shoulder in lower left quadrant.
