This Red Cloud Mine Wulfenite demonstrates the best color that the mine has to offer: a deep, vermillion orange, verging on red in some of the crystals, with the classic "window pane" habit featuring beveled edges and smooth faces. It is this color and habit that gave the mine the name "Red Cloud," when the first of this classic find was first discovered. These crystals are in excellent condition, with very few that are chipped and broken, a feat considering the age and fragility of this specimens. The entirety of the 14 centimeter plate is fully sown with beautiful crystals, and below these is a microcrystalline coating that gives the matrix a burnt orange coating. Wulfenite, and Red Cloud Wulfenite in particular will always be one of the darlings of the mineral community. As the old collector's adage goes: "Wulfenite is Love!"
