Very Rare Gemstone: Scheelite - 38.13 Ct.
Natas Farm 220, Gamsberg Area, Khomas Region, Namibia

Too bad there weren't more of the gemmy Scheelite crystals found on Natas Farm because the few faceted stones that evolved from those crystals are some of the best cut Scheelites ever found. The golden yellow color is light enough not to mask the exceptional brilliance and "fire" generated by the high R.I. and great dispersion. The rough was cut, only after a long period of study, by Ludwig Seiller of Swakopmund, Namibia, and that careful attention shows. The eye clean material was faceted as a triangular brilliant stone with enough 'flash' to pass for a yellow diamond. This very rare gemstone is quite large at over 38 carats.
Measurements: 17.80 x 17.79 x 10.88 mm, 38.13 cts.
