SCOLECITE with EPISTILBITE

Hundreds of years of trimming stones with hammers and chisels has left Indian Zeolite miners with a skill set that allows them to fashion "Easter Eggs", out of the Zeolite bearing gas bubbles that show up in the basalt lava they quarry for road gravel and the occasional specimen. Here this skill has resulted in a partially opened cavity in the basalt lava, lined with a colorless sparkling coating, from which bone-white sprays of Scolecite explode. Associated with the Scolecite are pink crystals of Epistilbite: another of the Zeolite Group of minerals. This Epistilbite is actually colored - most of them are colorless and is a very fine example of this rare zeolite. The condition of the "Easter Egg" is pristine.
Overall measurements: 5 x 4 x 3 inches (12.7 x 11.4 x 7.6 cm).
