Luanyantang Mine, Tongren Co., Tongren Prefecture, Guizhou Province, China

Hiding in plain sight, the two colorless Baryte crystals nestled into a small forest of equally colorless Quartz prisms are almost invisible. What is particularly unique about this specimen is that there are only two Baryte crystals involved, but they are quite well formed and the largest is 2.2 inches (5.5 cm) across. There are no other Barytes, only a multitude of transparent, euhedral Quartz crystals up to 1.25 inches (3.1 cm) long. This unusual specimen is in excellent condition, with only a miniscule amount of nicking to some crystal edges. The matrix is massive Quartz.
