While India is well-known for producing proverbial mountains of Apophyllite, this piece is actually quite impressive and aesthetic. Cradled at the center of the display is a 7.9 wide fan of perfectly-formed Apophyllite crystals, all of which have a spectacular green color, transparency, and glassy luster. Just below the Apophyllite is a small group of two beautifully-formed Stilbite crystals that strongly contrast the specimen with a rich salmon-pink hue. Both minerals are displayed on an undulating backdrop of translucent white Chalcedony, giving the piece a near perfect color balance. A remarkable offering from Mr. Witters's sub-collection of worldwide minerals. This piece is in excellent condition.
