This remarkable gathering of some really unusual mineral species comes together in a beautifully contrasting blend of colors: peachy-pink, black, and even a lovely navy blue around the Vivianite matrix. The pink crystals, all of which being very lustrous and well-formed, are Hureaulite crystals, a relatively rare species that is unheard of to the layman. Accenting the Hureaulite are small, ink-black crystals of Rockbridgeite, a known association to the pink mineral that is arguably even more rare. Finally, under this is a matrix of Vivianite and Muscovite, layered over each other. The Vivianite here is blue rather than the more common green, a very sophisticated touch especially in conjunction with the brighter crystals. One would be hard-pressed to find such an unusual combination specimen at this size!
