The King Mackerel or kingfish is the only member of the mackerel genus that lacks spots. It feeds on small bait fish and squid and can weigh up to 60 pounds and they make an excellent game fish. This trophy example is a very good fiberglass reproduction, expertly painted, and it will last forever as long as it is taken care of. The model for this piece was about a 26-pounder and it measures 48 inches in length and 18 inches around the girth.
