The hammered components of the pectoral form a widely flared tail and wings which curve downward with a strongly circular force. The cast body and head are globular and full, with a large, downward-curving beak. The small, bead-like eyes are widely set. A delicate braided necklace is balanced by braids below the body that terminate in outward-facing birds' heads. The reddish age patination is relatively untouched, and there are several small casting losses in head and beak.

The lot is sold with a statement of authenticity from the distinguished expert Robert Sonin.
