Born in the Texas panhandle, Arlene LaDell Hayes moved to New Mexico where she began her art career. Initially a sculptor, Hayes later turned towards painting and created a stylized and surreal depiction of warriors in colorfully minimalist landscapes. The Spirit Warrior and Star Traveler series are derived solely from the artist's dream states.
