Born in San José, Costa Rica, Karlito Miller Espinosa (Mata Ruda) creates installations that interrogate systems of power, capitalism, and violence. His interdisciplinary approach treats material as witness and the artist as researcher, exposing the hidden structures shaping modern society. A graduate of the University of Arizona (MFA) and Maryland Institute College of Art, Espinosa's work has been shown internationally at institutions like the Newark Museum, the United Nations, and the Street Art Museum in St. Petersburg. His art challenges viewers to confront social inequities and the politics of control.
