Condition Report*:
Unlined canvas. Pinholes in the corners. Yellowing to the varnish layer. Finely patterned craquelure and minor pigment separation throughout, apparently stabilize beneath the varnish layer. Two vertical columns of slight darkness in the middle ground, possibly pentimenti. Mild surface dirt and dust. Not examined out of frame.
Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. Aforementioned columns fluoresce slightly. Brushy retouching to the shadows in the mid- and foreground. Additional, more finely applied retouching to the figures, particularly the rightmost gentleman.
