A lifelong student and educator, Edmund Kinzinger's career extended across continents, impacting a generation of students around the world. Born in Pforzheim, Baden, Germany, Kinzinger first studied at the Knirr Schule and Staatliche Akademie in Munich and Stuttgart, and later at the Academie Moderne in Paris. Following World War I, he taught in Munich, where he met American artist Alice Fish; the two were married in 1927, and split their time between Europe and the United States. Fleeing the oppression of Nazi Germany, Kinzinger settled in Texas, accepting a post as chairman of the art department at Baylor University in Waco, a position he held until 1948.


Condition Report*: Presents very well. Some slight toning to the sheet overall, most apparent at extreme edges; not visible when mat is closed. Some scattered creases, small holes, and losses to extreme edges and corners of sheet, not affecting the picture plane and not visible when mat is closed. Sheet is hinged to board along upper edge of verso. Framed with window mat under glass.
