The present work bears a label on the frame attributing it as a cover for a Six Gun Western pulp magazine though no corresponding issue can be found. It is accompanied by a photocopy of the October 1943 cover for Speed Western Stories pulp magazine. With small differences and striking similarities in the composition, the present work is considered an alternate cover created based on the Speed Western Stories image for a similar as-of-yet unidentified use.
