It's a story that all mineral collectors know: a fateful excavation in 2007 yielded a small but stunning find of Fluorite specimens that made its way into the pantheon of true mineral classics: the "Alien Eye" Fluorites. This find was named for the unusual phantom/zoning pattern of the pocket: colorless edges, a sharp internal layer of deep purple-black, then eerily bright green centers that have an extraterrestrial presence, hence the pocket's famous name. This particular example has two aesthetically conjoined crystals, with the largest being oriented perfectly to display that "Alien Eye" effect, with two green windows on either side. The primary faces are clear and the beveled ends are beautifully frosted. Remarkably there are no internal fractures in the vast majority of the piece, leaving a very clean presentation of those famous phantoms, the structure of which are clearly distinguishable. The color is deep and contrasting, and hardly any backlighting is needed to get a great display. To find an example from this famed pocket is difficult enough, with a tiny supply and skyrocketing demand, but to find one in this quality and great aesthetics is a rare opportunity.

More Information: The backside has cleavage where extracted from the pocket, but the display side is in perfect condition. There are no repairs or restorations.
