Measuring 7.75 inches (19.7 cm) across, this vivid slice of "Wildfire" Bubble Opal offers an arresting display of color and form. Sourced from a now-depleted Utah locality, the specimen is composed of layered evaporite minerals once deposited by ancient geothermal springs. Waves of crimson, gold, russet, and burnt orange ripple through the surface, creating an effect reminiscent of seared stone or mineralized flame. Porous textures and contoured bands speak to the dynamic environment of its formation, where mineral-laden waters built up deposits over time. Known informally as "mineral bacon," this rare material is prized for its intense natural palette and obvious geological charm.
