2.2 x 1.7 centimeters is not the measurement for a field of view image-it is the size of the lone Cinnabar crystal that rises above the center of the specimen and easily dwarfs the other Cinnabar crystals scattered across the white Dolomite matrix. This central crystal is complete all around with a prismatic habit and topped a splendid, flatter termination. The crystal has a deep red color that practically glows when viewed with backlighting. The front side of the crystal is terraced with shallow stepped growths, greatly accenting the crystal's glassy luster, while the back side of the crystal has a smoother texture. This piece comes with and presents very well on a custom acrylic base.
