Here is a brilliant and highly transparent Tanzanite crystal from Merelani Hills-the premiere locality for specimen-quality Tanzanite crystals. This crystal shines with a strong glassy luster and has a watery blue color accented with hints of red throughout the center; These colors shift between purple and a deep blue when viewed in front of a polarized light. The Tanzanite comes to two sharp terminations and the faces are smooth on all sides with thin striations.
