The Comité Edouard Cortès has confirmed the authenticity of this painting, which will be included in Edouard Cortès: Catalogue raisonné de l'oeuvre peint under no. EC-CEC-2025/43. The lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Comité.


Condition Report*: Unlined canvas. Artist's pinhole just lower left of center. Pinholes in corners, the lower left affecting the signature. Minor frame abrasion at lower edge. Slight yellowing to the varnish layer. Some instances of faint craquelure. A small dot of loss at right edge in upper right quadrant. A thin vertical line of what appears to be errant ochre paint, at center of lower edge. Minor surface dust. Not examined out of frame.
Under UV: varnish fluoresce green. Some modern pigments fluoresce as expected. No apparent retouching.
