Here is an unusual and eye-catching specimen from the historic mining town of Tombstone, Arizona-the last boomtown of the American frontier-featuring small purple octahedrons of Fluorite scattered across a sparkling, white "web" of Quartz. The Quartz forms a lace-like network of veinlets that contrasts beautifully with the Fluorite's rich color and adds a striking textural dimension to the display. Under shortwave UV light, several small flecks throughout the specimen fluoresce a neon-green hue.
