Hemimorphite
Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Mapimí Municipality, Durango, Mexico
17.9 x 11.7 x 7.3 cm (7.05 x 4.61 x 2.87 in)

This is an excellent example of the iconic Hemimorphite specimens from the Ojuela Mine, presenting several sizable, well-formed crystals of Hemimirphite fill the interior of this cabinet-sized vug, with crystals reaching up to 4.4 centimeters in length. The Hemimorphite crystals have a near-pristine white color, contrasting wonderfully against the rust-red hue of the limonitic matrix. Each of the crystals are sharply terminated and have a strong glassy luster that gives the piece a flashier presentation.

From the collection of Daniel "Dan" R. Kennedy.
