A wonderful "positive" dinosaur footprint, this example our of the famous Portland Formation in South Hadley, Massachusetts, represents an ichnogenus known as Grallator. The three-toed predator which is only known from such trace fossils has provided this impressive specimen - measuring some 5.5 inches (14 cm) from tip to base. The middle digit is extremely prominent, and the overall fossil is very mottled brown in coloration. The matrix is rustic and multi-colored, and any finer dinosaur track is quite special.
Overall Measurements: 8.46 x 6.57 x 0.63 inches (21.50 x 16.70 x 1.60 cm)
