The final version of the present work is published as the cover of Futures Past by James White (Del Rey, 1982). The present work contains visible differences in the overall approach in style of both space craft, positioning of stars in background, and removal of two figures leaving only one in the final version.
Condition Report*:
A few faint curved scratches at upper left and lower right, visible primarily under raking light. Wear and markings to margins of board in keeping with illustration and publishing process. Framed under glass, not examined outside of frame.
