Sherry Salari Sander is an impressionist sculpture artist whose subjects tend toward the wildlife of her native Montana. Originally a painter, Salari Sander has traveled the world multiple times, with animals from her tours in Alaska and Africa often becoming subjects of her sculptures. Salari Sander is considered one of the premier western artists working today. She has won several honors from the North American Sculpture Exhibition, the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, and the National Sculpture Society. She was the first woman to ever win a gold medal from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.

Originally from Northern California, Sherry Salari Sander began her artistic career as a potter. Salari Sanders that this impulse started even earlier, as a child she and her sisters created houses from cardboard and salvaged wood. Culminating in a large town with holes for rabbits, horses, and deer. This set up a rich creative and imaginative life that would serve as a foundation for Salari Sanders in the coming years. Later in life, she moved to Montana, married Dr. Loren Vranish, and became inspired to create art that depicted the wildlife of her newly adopted home. Her switch to sculpting came when a foundry opened near her home in Montana. These sculptures quickly became widely acclaimed thanks to Salari Sanders’ natural talent and ability to show motion and action in bronze, no easy task.
