Biography:Gottscho began photographing professionally in 1925 with commissions from architects and landscape designers. In 1940, Gottscho began an extensive project to document the New York Botanical Garden. In 1936 Gottscho formed the firm Gottscho-Schleisner with his son-in-law William H. Schleisner. Most of their work consisted of New York architectural photography. After the Second World War the firm concentrated on photographing gardens and nature.
