Biography:
Maloof was a legendary furniture designer and woodworker. Born in Chino California, Samuel Solomon Maloof was a member of a large Lebanese immigrant family. Maloof, who made handcrafted organic furniture is considered one of the most important American studio furniture makers and is a giant in Post War California Design. His work resides in scores of major institutions and is included in important collections Nationwide. His bespoke rocking chairs have been owned by three sitting Presidents.
