Also known as: Daubigny, Carl; Daubigny, Karl Pierre; Daubigny, Charles Pierre; Daubigny, Charles-Pierre
Birth Place: Paris (Ville de Paris department, île-de-France, France)Biography:
Like his father, Karl specialized in landscape painting. He débuted at the Salon in 1863 and continued to exhibit there until his death, winning medals in 1868 and 1874. While his earliest works are obviously influenced by his father, he quickly came to develop a more personal and somber style. His subjects were often the forest of Fontainebleau or the coastline and landscape of Brittany and Normandy.
