Jan Jacob Spohler (Dutch, 1811-1866)

Jacob Jan Coenraad Spohler followed in the footsteps of his father, Jan Jacob Spohler, mastering the art of the 19th-century Dutch provincial landscape. Thy younger Spohler specialized in broad vistas of The Hague, Leiden, and Rotterdam, showing the bustling activity of villages and the surrounding countryside, with its waterways, windmills, and forests.
