Biography:
From Sao Paolo, Brazil, the Campana brothers are known for their playful use of local objects and a post-modern mentality within their designs. Their most recognizable chair, the Vermalha, being constructed of 500 meters of rope over an aluminum frame. They were discovered in 1997, by the former creative director of Edra, Massimo Morozzi. Morozzi helped the Campanas manufacture their designs through Edra, and the pair looked to Morozzi fondly as a mentor. The brothers were the first Brazilians to exhibit at The Museum of Modern Art, and have work housed within the museum’s permanent collection.
