Biography:Hannes Bok (American, 1914-1964): Born Wayne Woodard, Hannes Bok was an illustrator, amateur astrologer, and writer of fantasy fiction and poetry. He painted over 100 covers for various science fiction, fantasy, and detective fiction magazines, as well as contributing hundreds of black and white interior illustrations to such titles as Weird Tales, Famous Fantastic Mysteries, Other Worlds, Super Science Stories, Imagination, Fantasy Fiction, Planet Stories, If, and The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. Bok's work also appeared in calendars and early fanzines and also dust jackets from specialty book publishers like Arkham House, Shasta, and Fantasy Press.
