Biography:
Frank Bolle (American, b. 1924): is a prolific cartoonist whose career started in 1948 at Magazine Enterprises on Tim Holt, Red Mask, and Best of the West. For Western Publishing, Bolle drew Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, Doctor Solar Man of the Atom, Magnus Robot Fighter, Grimm's Ghost Stories, Boris Karloff's Tales of Mystery, UFO, and Rod Sterling's Twilight Zone. For DC he drew numerous romance yarns in the sixties. At Charlton he worked on the Phantom and Vengeance Squad titles, as well as sundry romance and mystery genre stories. For the field of syndicated newspaper strips, Bolle wrote and drew Children's Tales (a Sunday feature with both original stories and adapted fairy tale classics) from 1961-65. He drew the long-running soap opera strip Winnie Winkle from 1982-2003, and the Heart of Juliet Jones from 1982-1999. Frank Bolle currently illustrates the Apartment 3-G newspaper strip
