Reynold Brown is widely considered to be the greatest painter of 1950s science-fiction, horror, and fantasy movie posters, and this classic image is certainly one of the finest and most iconic examples of his work that we've ever had the pleasure to offer.

A copy of Reynold Brown, A Life in Pictures by Daniel Zimmer and David J. Hornung--in which the painting is reproduced in color--as well as a signed bookplate and a letter of provenance from the artist's wife accompany this lot.
