EARL MORAN (American, 1893-1984)
Pastel on board
30.75 x 22.5 in.
Signed lower right

This stunning image of Marilyn Monroe absolutely glows. It is perhaps the sunniest and happiest of the paintings that Moran did from life of the young Norma Jean, making it obvious that she was a star in the making.

This painting was reproduced as figure 626 in The Great American Pin-Up by Charles G. Martignette and Louis K. Meisel, Taschen, 1996.

From the Collection of Craig Macmillan.
