Subject of one of the most mysterious shipwreck tales in Great Lakes history, the SS 'Edmund Fitzgerald' was lost with her entire crew of 29 men on Lake Superior November 10, 1975. Built in 1958, at 729 feet long and 13,632 gross tons she was the largest ship on the Great Lakes for thirteen years, until 1971.
