The Palais des Tuileries was redecorated in the Empire Neoclassical style for Napoleon I under the direction of designers Percier and Fontaine. François-Honore-Georges Jacob-Desmalter (1770-1841) the second son of famed Parisian furniture maker Georges Jacob (1739-1814) produced the bulk of the furniture in conjunction with Jean-Pierre Louis as members of the Garde-Meuble Imperial. The mark "TH' corresponds with the Chateau des Tuileries during the French Restoration (1815-1830).

Condition Report*:With visible wear to the legs, especially at the bottom of each. Nicks and scratches along the top and loss to a small portion at the top of the center back rails to one and to original finish visible to the backrest of one. Modern upholstery.
