Related examples by André-Charles Boulle are found in two forms; the meuble à hauteur d'appui as well as the cabinet on stand. The example presented here bears similarity to a pair of meuble à hauteur d'appui in the collection of the Louvre.
Condition Report*:The meuble à hauteur d'appui shows some loss of gilding to the bronzes, wear to the surface especially at edges, some cracking to the tortoiseshell ground.
