The oval brèche violette marble center bowl flanked by a pair of scrolling acanthus and laurel handles, on an oval spreading foot on rectangular base with gilt bronze collar.
Within the Linke archives this model was referred to as both Index numbers 32 and 32 bis, and was produced in both green and variegated purple marble. This particular example was on display in Linke's Paris showroom at 170 rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine and is visible in an undated photograph illustrated in Christopher Payne, François Linke (1855-1946); The Belle Epoque of French Furniture, Antique Collector's Club, 2003, page 463 (plate 552).
