Accompanied by two black and white photographs, one of E. I. Couse, seated before a painting, with this lot in the background, and one of this lot, inscribed on the reverse, This Santa Clara black pitcher belonged to E. I. Couse and was used as a model in hundreds of paintings by the artist. It was purchased by the undersigned from the estate of the artist. Forrest Fenn, 8-24-86
