The Mannerist-style oval bowl with gilt chased repoussé strapwork decoration to the rim and cast wyvern handles, spreading conforming foot with similar strapwork decoration, the rim and foot joined by cast hinged bands encasing agate bowl, the front band with a reserve with engraved seated griffin crest, the back band monogrammed L (star) M.
