AN ITALIAN MICROMOSAIC TABLE TOP
Venice or Rome, 19th-20th Century
40 inches (101.6 cm) diameter

The circular top with micromosaic inlay depicting two birds in a basket abundantly filled with flowers and leaves, on a later parcel gilt bronze pedestal base

Condition Report*: Base is 32 inches high x 41 inches diameter. A fissure from the lower left corner of the mosaic to the edge of the panel. Another center right, upper right, and upper left radiating from the mosaic to the panel edges. A vertical fissure through the center of the basket with some repairs. An area of repair to the upper wing of the left dove. A few areas of losses to the tesserae, as appropriate with age (late 19th or early 20th century). Some old varnish still visible in places. On a modern table base.
