Considering Mother Nature's extremely broad aesthetic, ranging all the way from warthogs on one end to specimens such as this on the other, it is tempting to assert that Nature was having a VERY good day when this treasure was fashioned. Attempts at anthropomorphicizing Nature are doomed to failure, however - Nature produces sublime works as well as ridiculous ones with the same lack of concern. That lack of concern led to a fortuitous combination of a warm golden orange, perfect Scalenohedral twin crystal of shining Calcite measuring 5½ to 6 inches long, artfully balanced upon a plinth of crystalline blue-violet Fluorite of cubic form. This is from the Helmut Bruckner Collection - Mr. Bruckner is a very well known German dealer and this is an old acquisition from his personal collection. It has a custom labeled base and measures 8¼ x 9 x 5½ inches.
