Dr. Pillsbury is an internationally-known scholar and former Yale University curator and 18 year Kimbell Art Museum Director.
Dr. Pillsbury is one of America's foremost museum professionals who helped build the art collections of the renowned Kimbell as well as the Paul Mellon Collection of British Art and served as the founding director of the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art housing the Steve Wynn collection. He has an international reputation as a connoisseur, scholar, and arts administrator.
Among his many outstanding accomplishments, Dr. Pillsbury is a member of the prestigious American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In 1991 New York Times art critic John Russell characterized Dr. Pillsbury as "one of the most gifted men in the American museum profession."
A graduate of Yale University, Dr. Pillsbury holds a Ph.D. in Italian Renaissance Art from the University of London's Courtauld Institute of Art. His acclaimed former management positions include Director of the Yale Center for British Art and Chief Executive Officer of the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art in London. He served as Director of the Meadows Museum and Professor of Art History at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and is currently a Research Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas, a position he holds part-time.
A native of Minneapolis, he is the great-grandson of the founder of the Pillsbury Milling Company, today known to consumers as the Pillsbury bakery division of General Mills, Inc.

From the very beginning, Ed Jaster seemed destined for the art business. His parents met while attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the 1940s. Later, Ed would also attend The School of the Art Institute of Chicago himself. For twenty years Ed owned and operated his own commercial art firm in Chicago. It was during those years, Ed acquired, traded, and sold world-class collections of American Photography, Illustration Art, and Vintage Comic Books.
During the 1990s, Ed segued into dealing in collectibles and original artwork full-time. Quickly he became one of the most experienced, trusted, and well-known comics and original art dealers in America. Ed joined Heritage and moved to Dallas in early 2002. Ed's client list (now part of Heritage's) is almost as legendary as his knowledge of collectibles and art. He has bought and sold numerous six-figure American and European paintings, iconic vintage photography, complete runs of Mile High comic books, rare toys, classic movie posters, historic memorabilia, and important first edition rare books. Ed is a Senior Overstreet Advisor, has won several CBG Customer Service Awards, and served as an AACC Grading and Certification panelist for Christie's auctions in 1994 and 1995.
In 2005 Ed was promoted to the position of Vice President, Heritage Auction Galleries. He remains the department head for vintage comic books and original art, as well as in-house specialist for Illustration Art and American Paintings. Ed lives in Richardson, Texas (a suburb of Dallas) with his wife, Pamela, and daughter, Madeleine.

Courtney Case received a BA from Rollins College and an MA in Art History from Richmond American University in London. While studying for her Master's Degree, Mrs. Case held internships at Bonham's and Modern Painters Magazine. Mrs. Case joined Heritage in 2006 and she is responsible for gathering consignments, appraising property for sale, and producing twice-yearly Fine Art sales at our Slocum Street Annex. Prior to joining Heritage, Mrs. Case held associate positions at Linda Hyman Fine Arts, where she specialized in 20th Century American paintings, and James Graham & Sons, a prominent New York gallery specializing in 19th and 20th Century American Paintings and Sculpture.

Michael Duty

Michael Duty is the Director of Art of the American West for Heritage Auction Galleries in Dallas, Texas. He brings to his new position 31 years of experience in museums and historical organizations. Prior to coming to Heritage, he was the Executive Director of the National Western Art Foundation in San Antonio, Texas. His museum career began at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, Texas and he went on to direct the only two museums east of the Mississippi River devoted to American Western Art and History, the Rockwell Museum in Corning, New York and the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indian and Western Art in Indianapolis, Indiana. At the Rockwell, he founded the museum's Center for Western Art, a research center and library. He was the founding director of the Eiteljorg Museum and oversaw the construction of the 73,000 square foot building, developed the mission and vision of the institution, and recruited and hired the museum staff. He was also one of the founders of MuseumsWest, a consortium of the leading western art and history museums in the United States and Canada. Before returning to his native Texas, he was the Executive Director of the California Historical Society in San Francisco, the state's official historical agency.
Duty is a frequent lecturer on American Western Art and History. He is the author of several books on the subject, including, "Remington's West," "Southwest Realism: A New Mexico Tradition," "Frontier Legacy," "Dave McGary, American Realist in Bronze," and "Under Western Skies: The Art of Bob Pummill." His recent book, "The Cowboy Artists of America," won the Wrangler Award for best art book of 2003 presented by the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. He has organized over sixty museum exhibitions on a wide variety of subjects. He has participated in art and history symposia at several institutions and universities, most recently at the annual Prix de West exhibition and symposium at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City and the C. M. Russell Center for the Study of Art of the American West at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. One of his most recent books, published in 2005, "Western Traditions: Contemporary Artists of the American West" won the award for best book on the Southwest presented at the New Mexico Book Awards in 2007. He is currently working on a book on traditional Texas art that will feature both historic and contemporary Texas artists. At Heritage, Mr. Duty will also be in charge of the early Texas art program.
Duty has been active in many areas of the museum profession. He recently served as vice president of the Texas Association of Museums (TAM). He was also appointed to the task force planning the archives, library, and collection storage facility for the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian, which recently opened in Washington, D. C.

Thom Pegg

Thom Pegg is a veteran of the auction scene, having spent the last 12 years as a specialist in art and design at the Treadway-Toomey 20th Century Auction in Chicago. In addition to his tenure as an auction specialist, he has held ownership in galleries specializing in Twentieth Century art and design in Chicago, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, and his native city of St. Louis. He is well-regarded for his knowledge of 20th Century art, especially in the categories of early abstraction, American Scene painters, African-American art and Magic Realism. Mr. Pegg got his start working for galleries as a student at Washington University in St. Louis, and has been involved in the field for the past 23 years. He has discovered or handled the sale of countless important works of art and modern design, ranging from Gustav Stickley to Charles and Ray Eames. His galleries have been included in invitational exhibits associated with museums in virtually every major city in the U.S. Mr. Pegg recently contributed the foreword to a book on abstract painting, Abstract Artists: Signatures and Monograms, An International Directory (The Scarecrow Press, 2007).
Mr. Pegg has handled the sale of major works from museums and other various public collections and has been highly instrumental in creating the market and increasing the interest level in regional painting, African-American works, and Magic Realist works. He has attained numerous record prices in the sale of these categories of works.

Tim Rigdon

After more than 25 years in decorative arts, Tim Rigdon joined Heritage Auction Galleries in 2006. Tim earned a BA in Architectural History from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master's Degree in Decorative Arts History from Parson's School of Design in New York. After a museum career at The Art Institute of Chicago, the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, and the University of Minnesota Art Museum, Tim became a dealer specializing in decorative arts and design. He established successful galleries in Birmingham, Michigan, Chicago and Atlanta. Tim has also served as an adjunct professor of Design History at the Art Institute of Atlanta.

Sullivan comes to Heritage with a Master's Degree in Cultural Anthropology from the New School for Social Research in New York City, where she studied Primitive Art with Ted Carpenter and Shamanism with Michael Harner. She also worked for 14 years at Christie's, seven of which were spent as head of the American Indian Art Department. From 2000 through 2007, Sullivan managed two auctions a year in that capacity, during which she significantly raised the profitability and reputation of her department.

Michael Wolf, former founder and CEO of EWolfs.com, has joined HG&A as Deputy Managing Director of Fine and Decorative Arts. In this role, he will work closely with Dr. Edmund P. Pillsbury in developing the company's Fine and Decorative Art sector. Heritage has become a world leader in coins and collectibles and has recently made a major commitment to the development of Fine and Decorative Art with Dr. Pillsbury as Managing Director. Michael's passion for the arts began while he was an undergraduate at Ohio State University. After graduation, his earliest ventures in the art business took him from a small antique shop in Cleveland to his first auction house in California. In 1978 he returned to Cleveland and opened WOLF'S auction house on Cleveland's East Side. Due to the growth of the business WOLF'S moved to a beautiful downtown gallery in 1988. Under Michael's leadership, WOLF'S set numerous world record prices for art and antiques, established a reputation of honesty and integrity throughout the industry, and successfully converted from a traditional live auction format to an entirely online Internet business.
