Heritage Fine Art Auction Posts Outstanding Results!

Dallas, Texas: Heritage Auction Galleries' most recent auction of Fine Art, Sculpture, Photography and Illustration Art, held May 3 & 4, 2006 in Dallas, Texas posted overall results of $2,790,081.

"I'm very pleased with the results of this auction," said Dr. Edmund P. Pillsbury, Managing Director of Fine and Decorative Arts for Heritage. "We saw strong bidder participation in each session, both in the auction room and on the phone, as well as via the Internet, all of which contributed to the strong prices realized. The Arthur Dove painting, for example, performed extremely well, bringing $131,450 against a pre-auction estimate of $80,000."

"Dallas is a very healthy and vibrant arts community," Dr. Pillsbury said, "which we at Heritage are committed to developing even further as we grow our Fine and Decorative Arts departments."

"Our upcoming Decorative Arts auction is right around the corner," said Dr. Pillsbury, "on May 24 & 25, with a spectacular Texas auction to be held shortly thereafter on June 10, both of which will take place in Dallas. Then, on September 29 & 30, we'll present the Pre-Columbian and Native American Art Collection in New York City. I'd invite any interested parties to follow these exciting auctions on our website, at www.HeritageAuctions.com. The Decorative Arts auction is already open for bidding, and you can watch the others as they develop."

"One final note," said Dr. Pillsbury, "our Fall Fine Arts auction is already shaping up to be a major event. At that time, bidders will have a chance to acquire masterpieces by such important artists as Delacroix, Gaston Lachaise, Jasper Cropsey, Eastman Johnson, John F. Kensett, Il Parmigianino, and Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Keep watching the Heritage website for an announcement as to the date of this exciting event."
