This stunning example of Dulac's beautiful artwork makes immediately apparent his status as one of the most important book illustrators of all time. Originally published in Stories from The Arabian Nights: The Story of the King of the Ebony Isles, retold by Laurence Housman, London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1907, pg. 65, this masterpiece was also printed in Dulac edited by David Larkin, plate #2, Scribners, 1975.
