A HOPI COTTONWOOD KACHINA DOLL
c. 1950


a Hemis kachina, with straight legs and bent arms carved away from the body, wearing a traditional costume of white kilt with woven and embroidered sashes, fox skin, green ruff, and case mask, divided into two fields and featuring rectangular eyes, surmounted by a terraced tableta with fertility symbols

Height: 19 ½ inches

Condition Report*:

In overall very good condition.  Dance implements, once attached in each hand, broken and missing.  Surface with usual wear, including abrasions and soiling.  No apparent restoration.
