A PAIR OF MONUMENTAL SEVRES-STYLE PORCELAIN AND GILT BRONZE URNS

The pair of urns on square bronze bases, cobalt ground with gilt fleur-de-lis decoration to neck with gilt beaded border, olive wreath border to foot, the scene commemorating the Battle of Fontenoy during the reign of King Louis XV in 1745, with foot soldiers and aristocracy on horseback near a chateau. The applied beaded border to the neck is loose and missing a segment (included), repair to the foot of one base, visible restoration of glaze in the grass and the cannons, loss to glaze in the trees, sky, and to the neck of one horse, a scratch in the cobalt glaze of the neck and a stain to the shoulder, to the other, minimal loss of glaze . Missing original lids.
