This jewel of a painting represents Petty at his finest, containing all the signature elements of his phone girls, posed in a beautifully elegant composition. It was printed in the Esquire Petty Girl Phone Book, a calendar and datebook, 1939.

This painting was also reproduced as figure 572 in The Great American Pin-Up by Charles G. Martignette and Louis K. Meisel, Taschen, 1996.
