Margaret Barrett, a California native who graduated from UCLA with a B.A. degree in Art History, joined Heritage Auctions in 2011 after working as an Entertainment Memorabilia Specialist at various auction houses for a number of years.  She served as a Specialist at Butterfield & Butterfield in Los Angeles, as an Assistant Vice President & Head of the Popular Arts Department at Christie’s in New York, as a consultant to Julien’s Auctions in Los Angeles, and as the Director of Entertainment Memorabilia at Bonhams & Butterfields in Los Angeles. Notable collections that she has worked on include The Estate of John Wayne, The Estate of Marilyn Monroe, The Estate of Bette Davis, The Estate of Jimmy Stewart, The Estate of Jennifer Jones, The Estate of Raymond Burr, The Ramrod Shurtliff Collection of Grateful Dead Memorabilia, The Private World of Truman Capote, The Estate of Steve McQueen, and The Herb  Bridges “Gone with the Wind” Auction  for which she was awarded a key to the city by the mayor of Jonesboro, Georgia --  hometown of “Gone with the Wind” author, Margaret Mitchell.

After a stint in the corporate world, Garry Shrum started his own successful record store, Blue Meanie Records, in 1976, and he's been immersed in records, tapes and CDs ever since. Attending many record shows in the United States and Europe over the years, he has become an expert on imports, especially those of the 1960s. He has been providing expertise for Heritage's Music & Entertainment Auctions since 2004.

Jim Steele gleaned his expertise and encyclopedic knowledge of comic books the old-fashioned way - he worked the comic convention circuit as a dealer for over 20 years while owning a collectibles bookstore. The years in the collecting trenches paid off in 2002 when he joined Heritage, and by 2003 he had become Chief Cataloger for the Comics and Comic Art Division. Jim also assists with the production of Heritage's Entertainment Memorabilia catalogs.

Gary received a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1998, and spent six years as an editor/entertainment reporter/film critic for the alternative weekly The Met and later the Dallas Morning News. He is currently a member in good standing of the Dallas/Fort Worth Film Critics Association, and freelances for DarkHorizons.com, PopCitizen.com, The Lakewood Advocate, and others. He joined Heritage in late 2004 as a cataloger in the Comics and Entertainment departments, and later added Consignment Director to his list of duties.
